Qur'anic verses - The Sacred House:

The site of Makkah was granted to Abraham (and his son Ismail) for a place of worship that was to be pure and without idols. The worship is being paid to the One True God.

The foundation of the Sacred House was raised by Abraham and Ismail, peace be upon them. In another verse, God referes to the sacred house as the first house came into being for the purpose of worship;

The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings:
