Revelation 21:23
The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
Comments: Now, the sun and moon are to shine, whilst in the Psalm 148:3, they were both light. This is another indication that the Bible would not ascribe precise terms differentiating between the nature of physical light of the sun and moon. The style here is merely a poetic presentation, may well be written with divine inspiration, but can not be regarded as perfect as God's revelation and words. Obviously, God is the Light of the heavens and the entire universe including the city in question, "God is the Light of the heavens and the earth" (Qur'an 24:35), but our concern here is the physical light in terms of our phenomenal experience since God's Light is not subjected to the Laws of nature, "Naught is as His likeness" (Qur'an 42:11).
