Qur'anic verses - Fecundating wind:

The wind has a large effect on our lives. Its strength varies from a calm breeze to the devastating status of Hurricane.
For a long time, windmills have been used to grind crops and pump water by utilising the kinetic energy of the wind. Today, wind turbines are designed to generate electricity.
The wind
carries the pollen from one plant to another for the purpose of
impregnation. Here its fecundating quality is transferred to the
clouds, which by the means of rain, produce all kinds of fruit,
grain, and vegetation. The water cycle is
largely influenced by the wind directing the clouds in their
course of movement.
Man may store water in cisterns, tanks and
reservoirs. But he has no control over its original sources nor
can direct the winds to drive the clouds as he wishes. The air
never stops moving; as it moves, it carries heat and water around
the globe. God said:
And He it is Who sends the Winds
as heralds of glad tidings, going before his Mercy, and We send
down pure water from the sky.
[Qur'an 25:48]
Man stands powerless, helplessly observing the wind direction, without being able to change its course or its strength. God said:
Do ye feel secure that He Who is
in Heaven will not send against you a hurricane, so that ye shall
know how (terrible) was My warning?
[Qur'an 67:17]
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Winds are the heralds of God's mercy, though they bear both compassion and chastisement. So implore God for their aid, and seek refuge in Him from their destructive power."
