Qur'anic verses - Water the precious fluid:

Protopl    asm is the basis of all living matter, and water is a vital ingredient of its composition. Today's Zoology confirms that living protoplasm always contains a large amount of water. Without water, life simply ceases to exist. God said:

We made from water every living thing.
[Qur'an 21:30]

The living cell and its protoplasm is the basic constitutional unit of all beings whereby water is its main composition. In the following verse, God is directing our attention by relating His creation to its origin, water:

And God has created every animal from water.
[Qur'an 24:45]

This precious fluid is the most vital and fundamental element of our survival. In many places, people are enjoying plenty of palatable water in the form of rivers, springs and rain. Its abundance makes some people unaware of its precious value, nor remembering God's favour on them, Who's favours are countless.

Which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
[Qur'an 55:13]

The display here is not an artist's impression, but it is today's reality of some communities around the Globe. At the dawn of the 21st century, more than one sixth of the entire population on our planet do not have access to safe drinking water. One might argue that axes and augers can bring water. The crucial point is who can afford to make the necessary tools and machinery to extract water from deeper underground if this scene is repeated all over the continents? God asks Man:

O man! what has seduced thee from Thy Lord Most Beneficent?
[Qur'an 82:6]

One possible answer is that God's endless favours and bounties may create denial, self-conceit and arrogance.
