Qur'anic verses - Equality before Law:

The principle of justice is considered as one of the most fundamental elements in the value of the system. God said:
When you judge between people, that you judge with justice.
[Qur'an 4:58]
We have to act justly in all situations even in those which are detrimental to our own interests. Not only that, but we have to be just with whom we differ, regardless of all other considerations.
This Qur'anic Verse had laid the foundation for absolute equality before the Law long before the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the General Assembly of the United Nations, resolution 217 A (III) of 10 December 1948, Article 7 which states:
| All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination. |
