Qur'anic verses - The Most Beautiful Names:

There are numerous verses in the Qur'an which refer to God's names and His attributes. It is generally believed that there are ninety nine declared names and attributes of God according to the Islamic tradition which indicate the Oneness of God and their might be more transcendental ones. God has Self-disclosed himself through the manifestation of His attributes set forth in the Holy Qur'an. These attributes are referred to 'The Most Beautiful Names.' God said:

God! there is no god but He! To Him belong The Most Beautiful Names.
[Qur'an 20:8]

All the attributes of God are absolute. God's names are not only individually complete but perfect in their harmony. If we are in the dark we call Him for light; if we are lost we call Him for guidance; if we are in need we call Him for help and assistance. The Holy Qur'an enjoins on the believers to call upon God by His Most Beautiful Names and by whatever name is well. God said:

By whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): For to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names.
