Qur'anic verses - Continual agony:

For those who shall be cast in the Fire, their skins shall be continuously renewed to sense the pain to a greater degree.

The skin covers the human body. Although we rarely think of it as such, it is also an organ - the body's largest organ. Its tough surface layer, the epidermis, continually replaces itself to repair wear and tear and protect body from harmful intrusions, including ultraviolet rays from the sun. Under this a thicker layer, the dermis, is packed with nerves that sense variations such as the heat.

This Qur'anic verse indicates a scientific phenomena which was not explained or understood until recent times long after the time of the revelation in the early seventh century after Christ, peace be upon him. Once the skin is exposed to extreme conditions of the Hellfire, it may rapidly disintegrate or loss to its functionality, causing damage to the heat sensors beneath the skin, and then it is renewed to continuously taste the pain of God's punishment for those who transgressed in this life.

The verse indicates also that Qur'an is God's revelation, Who knows the secret of His creation, and indicates also the Hellfire is true.
