Qur'anic verses - The mission of Lut:

Lut, or Lot, was a nephew of Abraham, and was sent as an apostle with a mission to a people who indulged in unspeakable sins.
Lut dwelt in Sodom, a city that was situated on the southern/eastern cost of the Dead Sea. His people indulged in perverse practice, known in modern times by homosexuality. Some of today's contemporary socities are repeating the same mistakes by naturalizing and legalizing what is rejected by the divine law.
Lut warned his people and dissuaded them from their perversions, but they rejected his call;
They said: "If thou desist not, O Lot! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!"
[Qur'an 26:167]
God saved his Apostle and made them the ones that lost most;
And We turned (the Cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard
as baked clay.
[Qur'an 15:74]
