Islam respects life, and man was distinguished to live and to enjoy life with great honour in order to enforce his corresponding duties and responsibilities. Thus, a man's life is a trust given to him, not to endanger or cause harm to his life, or any life. God said:
If any one saved a life, it would
be as if he saved the life of the whole people.
[Qur'an 5:32]
According to Article 3 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, resolution 217 A (III) of 10 December 1948:
[Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.]
On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
