Qur'anic verses - The Right to Freedom:

Human freedom is as sacred as life itself. Islam protects human freedom of individuals and communities, and encourages friendly relationships among all people:

And made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other).
[Qur'an 49:13]

The Islamic state has the duty to support others who are striving for their freedom:

The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous..
[Qur'an 42:42]

According to Article 1 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, resolution 217 A (III) of 10 December 1948:

[All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.]

On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
