Qur'anic verses - The Right to Asylum:

The Islamic state is obliged to grant asylum to its seekers and guard their safety and provide the non-Muslims with reglious teaching without compulsion. By deduction, this Qur'anic verse is applicable to all who flee persecution that arises from ideological reasons, including Muslims who flee oppression:

Was not the earth of God spacious that ye could have migrated therein?

According to Article 14(1) of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, resolution 217 A (III) of 10 December 1948:

[Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.]


On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
