Qur'anic verses - Solar system:

Though their motions are different, they never clash. Their Laws are fixed by God. Similarly Night and Day follow each other in perfect compatibility. How beautifully the rounded courses of the planets and heavenly bodies are described, "swimming" through space, with perfectly smooth motion!

The verb "swim" also refers to a self motion of the planet to remain stable in its orbit, as in the case of a swimmer who should maintain a pattern of bodily movements to remain floating and not sink. And so the planet has to revolve around itself to maintain its balance while it is moving in its orbit.

The Sun, the Moon, or together were referred to in the Qur'an in 41 verses. In 24 occasions, this reference was made to encourage contemplation in God's glorious creation which is based on unique universal laws. God said:

The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed.
[Qur'an
55:5]

This verse indicates the exact mathematical laws that rule the courses of the sun and the moon. Whereby, Man can predict numerous changes on our earth associated with this astronomical phenomena, such as, the seasons, the tides of the waters, the atmosphere, and the reflection of these changes on life on earth. On the other hand, this Qur'anic verse liberates the Mind from superstition and all kind of myths to the enlightenment of knowledge and actually had established a bench based on expedition and thinking. God said:

Among His Signs are the Night and the Day, and the Sun and the Moon. Adore not the sun and the moon, but adore God, Who created them.
[Qur'an
41:37]

God invites Man to think wisely about the universal system; God said in a reference to His creation:

Verily in this are Signs for men who are wise.
[Qur'an
16:12]

In contrast to the Qur'an, at no time the Bible made a reference to a universal phenomena or establishing a scientific fact, although the 'Sun' and 'Moon' appear in the Bible in 179 occasions.
