Stand in reverence and humility, facing the qiblah,
with clear intention in mind, raising the hands up to the ears, and saying: |

While standing, start with this supplication (optional): |

| Then, recite the
first Chapter of the Qur'an, the Opening, followed by a passage from any
other Chapter. |
3.
Before bowing (ruku'),
say: "God is Greatest," and while bowing, say (3 times): |

The daily obligatory (fard)
Prayers:
Early
morning (fajr): 2 units (rak'ah)
Noon (Zuhr): 4 units
Midafternoon ('asr): 4 units
Sunset (maghrib): 3 units
Evening ('isha): 4 units

The worshipper then says: "God is Greatest," and prostrates. While prostrating,
say (3 times): |

After prostration (sujud), sit with a short rest before resuming a second
prostration. |

unit (rak'ah) of the prayer. The second unit starts with saying "God is
Greatest" without repeating the first supplication, and so on. After the
second and the last unit (rak'ah) of the prayer, remain in sitting posture
to read the tashahud: (Part
